The Met-Ed/Penelec Sustainable Energy Fund is accepting applications for more than $200,000 in grants throughout the state’s Met-Ed and Penelec service territories.
Grants of between $2,000 and $50,000 will be distributed for projects and programs that support the development and use of clean energy technologies and energy efficiency. Applications will be accepted through March 15th, with the awards to be announced in May. The utility company notes that this year there will be only this one opportunity. In previous years, applications were accepted year-long on a rolling basis. Grant funding is prioritized for nonprofits, but commercial or industrial organizations may also apply. The grants are not available to individuals.
