Police are investigating a bizarre incident in Armstrong County, where a woman either caught fire or set herself on fire at a gasoline pump outside a supermarket in East Franklin Township. 

The incident happened just after 11 a.m. yesterday outside the Shop-N-Save near Kittanning.  The name and condition of the 51-year-old woman have not been released.  She was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital. 

Police say a truck driver and two bystanders helped put the fire out.  The Armstrong County District Attorney’s office say they hope surveillance footage will shed light on whether the incident was an accident or the woman meant to set herself on fire.  No other injuries were reported in the fire.
