The White Township supervisors last night discussed the old Meadowbrokk Lounge, a building that has been deemed unsafe because of its dilapidated condition. Closed for years, Meadowbrook's roof is considered particularly at risk of collapse. The building is located just off the Creekside exit on Old Route 119 near the Route 119 Bypass. The supervisors agreed that an effort should be made to raze the privately-owned building.
Also last night, the supervisors were updated on the effort to obtain the proper bonds and contractor’s insurance for the Mack Park pool bathhouse upgrades. This is a complete renovation of facilities that were built in the fifties.
In other news, the township received $92,443 for the foreign fire insurance fund. The money comes from out-of-state insurance companies that sell fire insurance within Pennsylvania. The supervisors passed a motion to distribute 90 per cent to the Indiana Volunteer Fire Company and 10 per cent to the Creekside Volunteer Fire Company.
The next White Township Supervisors meeting is Oct. 24.
