With an eye toward maintaining the business vitality of downtownIndiana, community leaders gathered last night for a strategic planning meeting at the Kovalchick Complex.
Led by Ellen Ruddock the director of the Center for Family Business at IUP, the attendees discussed ideas to continue the momentum already underway with the downtown business district renaissance. Ruddock was impressed by the turnout. About 50 business leaders, property owners, Downtown Indiana, Inc. board members, political officialsm and residents attended.
The discussion focused on current strengths and weaknesses, threats to the business viability of the downtown, and how to position downtownIndianafor the future. Ruddock says the ideas and issues presented last night will be compiled into a report that will guide future discussions.
