Previously-approved deal nixed after company not included on state list

The Homer-Center School Board last night rescinded approval for telephone vendor ASCC to install a new phone system at a cost of $56,000.  ASCC was not part of a state education purchasing program, so the administration will investigate an alternative phone vendor to install a new system.  The vote was unanimous.

Also last night, the board heard an update on some major school events.  High School Principal Jody Rainey announced that this year’s musical is Pajama Game, and encouraged the public to attend.  The musical will be performed tonight and tomorrow, starting at 7 pm.  Rainey went on to discuss the annual academic luncheon that was held to honor students.  Rainey said that the event is a great motivator for academic success.
