Indiana Borough police reported that vehicle was damaged on private property adjacent to the 900 block of Gompers Avenue. A green 1998 Volvo had its driver’s side brake light broken at about 8 a.m. on Friday.




IUP police reported a theft from yesterday. Police say that at about 12:30 p.m. someone entered the room of two students in the Suites on Pratt and took $25 and two debit cards.




A Lucerne Mines man was found deceased inside his home yesterday morning at 9 o’clock.  State Police said they are still investigating the death of Michael R. Burkley.




A theft occurred at Maudie’s Sixers in Homer City between 8 o’clock last night and 2:30 this morning. Morgan Maudie, age 26 of Homer City, told State Police that a purse and black Northface jacket were taken from an unknown patron. The items were hanging on a hook inside the bar.



Indiana Borough police reported an incident of domestic violence between a male and female that occurred yesterday. When they arrived on scene in the 500 block of Locust Street, they found Antionette Volanti of Indiana had assaulted an unnamed male victim. Volanti was arrested and lodged in the Indiana County Jail and charged with simple assault and harassment.




State Police say a vehicle struck a utility pole on Route 240 in Green Township then fled the scene.  The crash was reported at 4:30 yesterday morning. Police say that a car swiped the utility pole with its passenger side and continued west on 240 near Cookport Road.
