The inaugural Teddy Bear Fund Drive 5K Run and Walk was held on Saturday and was a success for helping local children.
The race, which was sponsored by the Student Government Association from Indiana Senior High School, was a new event that encouraged runners, walkers, and businesses to come together to support the Teddy Bear Fund Drive.
Forty-four runners and walkers turned out for the race, which was held near S&T Bank Arena on the Indiana High School cross country course. Jonathan Scheid of Pittsburgh was the top male finisher with a time of 24:08, while Katie Browe of Indiana was the top female finisher with a time of 25:59.
Even more importantly, the race raised over $850 for the Teddy Bear Fund Drive. The race was coordinated by IHS seniors Tyler Cousins and Sean Coleman, and they were assisted by members of Student Government.
