We still don’t know which state correctional facility Lewis Beatty will serve his life sentence in. The South Mahoning Township man was sentenced to three consecutive life prison terms on Friday for the June deaths of his estranged wife and two young daughters.
On Friday, Indiana County Judge Tom Bianco instructed Sheriff Robert Fyock to transport Beatty to the State Diagnostic and Classification Center in Camp Hill, where an appropriate prison for Beatty will be decided. On Friday, Beatty became emotional as he told the court that the June murders, “Never should have happened. I’m very remorseful and I’m sorry.”
Indiana County District Attorney Pat Dougherty says the plea arrangement deeply limits Beatty’s options for an appeal.
