Police continue to seek information on the whereabouts of a man who allegedly shot to death a New Florence man on Saturday at a trailer near Torrance. Meanwhile, preliminary hearings have been scheduled for January 9th for three defendants who are accused of helping the victim of the shooting try to rob the fugitive shooter, and the charges against them are more serious than originally outlined in a police affidavit.
24-year-old Michael Volk was found lying in a hallway of the mobile home Saturday afternoon. He was allegedly killed by a man named Mitch, for whom no last name is known. Police discovered that Volk and three others had bought heroin from Mitch the night before at the same mobile home, and that they planned to rob him of heroin and money on Saturday, but instead Volk was shot to death and Mitch fled toward Blairsville in a two-tone red sports car tricked out to ride low to the ground.
Jesus Santiago, Tiffany Blattenberger, and Danielle Clawson are now all charged with criminal homicide, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery. They’re being held without bail at the Westmoreland County Prison. Originally, police had intended to file charges of conspiracy to commit criminal homicide and conspiracy to commit robbery.
