High school work completed, work still ongoing at elementary school

At last night's United School Board meeting, it was announced by Steve Horrell of GM McCrossin that the High School renovations are complete.  The elementary school still has work that needs to be done, but students are now back in their proper rooms.

The board approved a change order that will add fourteen lights along the outside wall of the the elementary school, costing approximately $14,000.

In other business, the board approved a preliminary budget or the 2013-2014 school year.  As it stands now, there is a two-million dollar deficit that the district will work on paring down.  Board president Donald Davis said that they asked administrators to plan as if there would be no tax increase and the board would try their best to limit the tax increase if one is needed.  The final budget is due on June 30th
