The White Township Supervisors were joined last night by Dale Kirsch, superintendent at Indiana School District, Tom Harley, the Indiana School District board president, Borough Police Chief William Sutton, Borough Council Member Kevin Kravetsky, and Lt. Robert Clark of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Kirsch and Harley both said they were interested in having only one police force provide security for all schools in the district, half of which are in White Township. These plans are only in the discussion phase, they said. They asked the township to consider giving permission for borough police to patrol and secure the schools outside the borough, which are Ben Franklin and East Pike Elementary and the senior high school.

In other news the Meadowbrook building was finally raised on Sunday. It was a bit of a battle for the township to get the dilapidated structure torn down.

Recreation Director Ryan Shaffer said he is researching DCNR grants to secure funding for projects and upgrades to some of the public spaces. He was advised to make a wish list of projects and present details for the public meeting scheduled for Feb. 6.
