The Homer-Center School Board met last night and was updated on school safety.

District Superintendent Dr. Charles Koren informed the board that the administration is working with the Pennsylvania State Police and security vendors to make the entrances to the elementary and high schools more secure.

Dr. Koren went on to say that he will give a further report to the board next month, but will be careful not to reveal all of the new security measures that will be used, because that in and of itself is a strong security measure.  In other business, the board unanimously approved Business Manager Gregory Cessna preparing a preliminary budget that will be displayed tomorrow and voted on at February’s meeting.  Of course as the budgeting process unfolds, the preliminary budget can vary drastically from the final budget that will be approved mid-year.
