The union representing faculty at the 14 state-owned university and the State System of Higher Education have reached an agreement on the framework for a new contract.
State system spokesman Kenn Marshall said there is still some language yet to be finalized and the framework is the first step in an agreement.
Marshall said negotiating teams met all day Friday and Saturday to iron out the deal. He declined to discuss specifics on the deal, which would need approval from the state system's board of governors and APSCUF's members.
A brief notice on APSCUF's website acknowledges the frameworkd deal. Union officials said they'll release a public statement after its negotiations committee votes on the proposal Monday evening.
