Word comes this morning that the members of Indiana County’s Army reserve unit may be back in town by mid-week.
Indiana Mayor George Hood says he expects a call today from Captain Forte of the 420th Engineer’s Battalion to offer a firm timeframe. He says to expect a late afternoon arrival, and instead of entering Indiana from the west end of town, they will probably enter from the east end and proceed west on Philadelphia Street.
The mayor says he is hoping Indiana County residents will turn out along the street to welcome the troops home after their deployment a year ago to Afghanistan. He’ll let us know when he gets the official word.
