Local officials have announced an agreement with Creps United Publication for the purchase of a lot at the Windy Ridge Business and Technology Park, which is located near the intersection of Route 286 and Route 422 in White Township. The lot will be the new home of the company’s printing plant. Last October, the company’s former plant along West Philadelphia Street was destroyed in a massive fire that caused around $75 million in damage. Officials say the agreement was brought about by the location of the Windy Ridge park, the opportunities for expansion and the tax advantages of relocating to the park.
Byron Stauffer of the county’s Planning and Development office says the project should be put out to bid soon. Construction could get started this summer and officials are hoping the new building will be open for business before the one year anniversary of the fire.
Many local officials collaborated on the agreement, including State Senator Don White and State Rep. Dave Reed.
