Deals run through 2015 academic year

The Board of Governors of the State System of Higher Education yesterday ratified the new contracts for both the faculty union and athletic coaches at IUP and the thirteen other state-owned universities.

Both deals run through June 30th, 2015.  They were previously ratified by APSCUF, the union which represents both groups.  Major components include salary increases and changes to the health care plan.  Faculty members will receive general pay increases of one percent this year and next and two percent in 2014-15, plus other increases based on service time.  Coaches will receive increases of 2.5 percent this year, 2.25 percent next year and performance-based merit pools of three percent in each of the final two years of the contract.

Both contracts also contain a one-time retirement incentive program similar to one that was offered in 2010.  Eligible faculty and coaches have until March 29th to decide whether or not to accept early retirement.
