The White Township Supervisors last night voted to set up a capital reserve fund for their Act 13 money. The township will receive $35,976 from Marcellus Shale impact fees. Township Manager Milt Lady said that money could be used for storm water or road maintenance, but will be used for capital improvements. Act 13 is a new state law that channels money raised by impact fees to the municipalities and counties in which Marcellus Shale gas drilling takes place.
In other business, the supervisors accepted their road material bids. There were six proposals opened from various regional companies.
A payment was also approved to contractors for the Mack Park Pool bathhouse renovations in the amount of $146,383. It is hoped that project will be finished within the next week, with inspections to come after that.
