Officials say a fire early this morning  that destroyed a house along Locust Street in Indiana started on the porch.  The flames were reported at 4:50 a.m.  The fire quickly spread to the rest of the building, which was used as a student rental.

The Indiana Fire Association was called to the scene, soon joined by the Homer City and Coral-Graceton fire departments.  The fire forced the closure of the 500 block of Locust Street, along with a portion of South 6th Street.  Crews remained on the scene for more than five hours, tracking down students who lived in the house.  No injuries were reported.

There is not yet an estimate on the amount of damage to the home.
