Today is the formal inauguration of IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll. An inauguration ceremony is scheduled for the Fisher Auditorium Performing Arts Center beginning at 3 p.m. today.
The public is invited and parking is available at the Stadium Lot South, which is located across from the front doors of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. Overflow parking is available at the Wayne Avenue parking lot, with a shuttle running regularly between both lots and Fisher Auditorium.
No streets will be closed as a result of the event. Driscoll’s inauguration will be preceded by a lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. that is open by invitation only. Following the inaugural ceremony there will be a public reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. The reception will be open to the public. Even though today is Driscoll’s formal inauguration, he has been on the job for nearly a year and a half.
Driscoll was selected as IUP’s president in January of 2012. He came to the university after spending time as provost and vice chancellor at the University of Alaska in Anchorage.
