PRELIMINARY HEARING CONTINUED FOR MAN ACCUSED OF RAPING CHILDREN

The preliminary hearing for a Homer City man, charged in the sexual assault of four young girls, was continued yesterday.  19-year-old Robert Lawson is now expected in before District Judge Jennifer Rega on July 24th

 

Lawson is charged with eight counts of rape, including four counts of rape of a child.  He’s facing eight other felony counts related to sex with children; four felony counts of corruption of minors; plus twelve misdemeanor counts of various forms of indecent assault.  The victims were ages 6, 8, 9 and 11.  Lawson reportedly lived for some time with the girl’s mother and her boyfriend in Burrell Township.  He also baby-sat for the couple.  Court documents state that the admitted to having sex with the girls “on numerous occasions.”

 

He is being held at the Indiana County Jail on $100,000 bond.
