FAMILY OF SIX LEFT HOMELESS BY FIRE IN JOSEPHINE
Nine fire companies respond

7/5/2013

The American Red Cross is assisting a Josephine family whose home was destroyed by fire last night.

Firefighters from Black Lick, Coral-Graceton, and Blairsville got the initial call just after 11 o’clock, and were soon joined by tankers from Homer City, Indiana, and Clyde, and soon after that by Derry Borough, Derry Township, and Latrobe.  A number of other fire companies were on standby.

The Red Cross says the Steve Cerovic family lost everything in the blaze.  Cerovich and his wife are reportedly in their seventies, and a daughter, Jennifer Cerovic lived there with her three children, two boys ages 16 and 17 and a 12-year-old girl.

The two-story wood-frame home was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived.  One of the residents said the fire started on the back porch.

Nobody was injured.
