Searchable database project has been ongoing for fifteen years

White Township now has all ordinances in an electronic, searchable form. Township Manager Milt Lady told the supervisors last night that the work on a complete listing of the township ordinances has been in progress since 1998 and is finally complete.  Not only can residents view the complete listing broken down by topic in hard copy, but they can view an electronic version as well. The ordinances used to only be available by chronological order.

Lady said there will eventually be a link on the township’s website to the developer of the guide, General Code. Some of the legal language has been removed to make it more user-friendly. The guide will be updated once yearly if the township agrees to a maintenance fee with General Code.

Lady also said the sewage system was able to handle the recent rains. There was a power outage at the Pleasant View pump station which has no generator. Lady said they want to install a generator as soon as possible.
