It’s a very busy day at the Indiana County courthouse today, with pleas and sentencing scheduled in 27 different cases, most of them for driving under the influence and related offenses. Five of the cases are not related to DUI, and three of those are cases in which men will be sentenced for sex crimes involving children.
67-year-old Donald Rhoads of Penn Run pleaded guilty to corruption of minors. A charge of indecent assault of a person under the age of 16 was dropped. .
27-year-old Jeremy Allgood of Blairsville pleaded guilty in May to indecent assault of a person under age 13. Charges of corruption of minors and indecent exposure were dropped. Allgood was caught in the act of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl at a home in Burrell Township in January.
55-year-old Lawrence Miklusko of Indiana pleaded guilty in May to indecent assault in exchange for prosecutors dropping a charge of corruption of minors.
As part of their sentencing, Rhoads, Allgood, and Miklusko all submitted to evaluation by the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.
Other non-DUI sentencing proceedings today will be held for Debra Guiste of McIntyre, who pleaded guilty to a single count of felony forgery in exchange for prosecutors dropping three theft charges, a single count of receiving stolen property, and another count of improperly accessing a device issued to another person. She admitted to embezzling money from her employer, Cummings Landscaping and Nursery of Armstrong Township. Her husband, Rickey Guiste, was admitted to the ARD program for lesser charges.
Charles Ferguson of Clymer will be sentenced for a plea bargained guilty plea for theft. Attempted burglary and criminal mischief charges were dropped.
