LENGTHY DELAYS FOR SOUTH 6TH STREET PAVING
PennDOT also announces paving for Route 422 in Shelocta area

Some new travel advisories start today for two major travel routes inIndianaCounty…

 

  • Starting this morning at 9 AM, temporary lanes closures will take effect on Route 954/South 6th Street in White Township as workers begin milling, patching and paving that busy section of roadway between Carter Avenue and Philadelphia Street in Indiana Borough.  Flaggers will control the flow of traffic and some side streets will also be closed for periods of time.  PennDOT says the delays will be lengthy and drivers should plan to use other streets instead of South 6th if at all possible.  Depending on weather conditions, the work is expected to be finished on Monday, September 30th

 

  • PennDOT also says that starting this evening, nighttime traffic will be restricted from7 PMto6 AMon Route 422 between the Route 56/156 intersection in Shelocta and Ridge Road in Armstrong Township.  The work includes the addition of turning lanes at the intersection at 56/156 with, drainage upgrades, and fresh asphalt of the entire section of highway.  The $1.44 million project is scheduled for completion in mid-October.
