The Indiana Indians girls' basketball team will be heading to State College on Saturday night for the PIAA Class AAA finals, thanks to a hard-fought, 54-52, victory Wednesday night over Chartiers Valley.

Leslie Stapleton sank a pair of free throws with 21.8 seconds left to put the Indians ahead, 54-50. She led the team with 19 points.

Indiana (25-2) will play Archbishop Wood for the state title at 6 p.m. Saturday at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center. The pregame airs at 5:30 on AM 1450 WDAD and online at the MSA Sports Network. Indiana has not made it this far since losing in the state championship game in 1983.
