The Penguins dropped their fifth game in the last six as they were out-skated by New Jersey, 4-2 last night.
The Pens rallied twice, tying the game at 1 in the first on a goal by Phil Kessel and at 2 in the third period on a tap-in by Jake Guentzel, but two goals by Taylor Hall, one into an empty net, gave the Devils their second win in eight days over Pittsburgh.
The Penguins dropped to 7-6-and-3 and return home to host the Lightning tomorrow.
