MARY GROMLEY, 81

Mary C. “Honey” (Abrams) Gromley, 81, of Punxsutawney, PA died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
The daughter of Harry and Genevieve (Miller) Abrams, she was born on June 2, 1938 in Spangler, PA.
Mary married Harold “Delmont” Gromley on December 24, 1971 and they enjoyed almost forty-nine years of marriage together.
Years ago she had worked as a waitress at the former Benamati’s Restaurant in Clymer, PA. Mary devoted her life to her family and her church.
She was a longtime member of the Punxsutawney Wesleyan Methodist Church. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her two daughters: Janice (Gromley) Moore and companion, Thomas M. Corson of Northern Cambria, PA; Donna (Gromley) Palmer and fianc, Clayton Patterson of Punxsutawney, PA; her seven grandchildren: Dorothy Stear; Andrea Stear; Johnathan Palmer; Christopher Patterson; Dustin Patterson; Heather Patterson amd Natalie Corson; her great-grandson: John W. Harris; her step mother-in-law: Prudence Gromley of Cherry Tree, PA and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her five siblings: Lea; Joe; Art; Dorothy; and Margaret “Nunny”; half- brother: Jim “Friday”; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Loy and Vivian Gromley and son-in-law: John W. Moore.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 28, 2019 officiated by Pastor Steve Cassidy. Interment will follow at Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA.
