Richard R. “Dusty” Shedlock, 72, of Clymer, unexpectedly died Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Embassy of Hillsdale Park nursing home. Born in Indiana, PA, August 13, 1951, he was a son of the late Edward and Dorothy (Lewis) Shedlock.
Everyone in Clymer knew Dusty. He loved his friends and neighbors and would frequently visit with them while he was out walking one of his dogs. He was a graduate of Penns Manor High School and worked for many years at the Indiana County Workshop.
Dusty was a sports fan. He watched baseball and football games and always cheered for the Pirates and Steelers. He also loved his cat Olive and enjoyed listening to music and collecting old newspapers. In addition to visiting with his many friends and acquaintances, Dusty was a political junkie. He could talk politics with anyone at any time and had very strong opinions regarding his own political views.
He is remembered by his siblings: Edward Shedlock (Grace), Strongsville, OH; William J. Shedlock (Joanne), Clymer; John Michael Shedlock, Indiana; and Kevin Shedlock (Michelle), Ohio. Other survivors include his nieces and nephews: Theresa Webb, Edward Shedlock, Missy Miller, Bethann Alsippi, Todd Shedlock, John Wickens (Rhonad), Elizabeth Wickens, Jessica Shedlock, Kyle Shedlock, Jacob Shedlocj, several great nieces and several great great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra Weston and brother, David Shedlock.
All services arrangements are private. The Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory of Clymer is assisting the Shedlock Family. Burial will be made at the Oakland Cemetery in Indiana at a later date.
