IUP softball dropped the first game of a doubleheader with Cal U, 7-4, and the second game was halted by darkness and rain with Cal leading, 8-5 after four innings. In the first game, Kelly Szolek and Delaney Patella each had two hits and Jordan Sylvia had a solo home run.
IUP golf finished seventh at the South Carolina Beaufort Oldfield Classic. Two Crimson Hawks golfers made the top twenty. Sean Fedor was 11th and Guillermo Salazar was 14th.
Another honor for men’s basketball star Ethan Porterfield. He’s been named to the Reese’s Division II All-Star Game, to be played this Friday in Evansville, Indiana as part of the Elite Eight events. Porterfield is the only PSAC player in the game, which in the past has featured IUP stars Shawndale Jones, Brandon Norfleet, Marcel Souberbielle, Ashton Smith, and Darryl Webb.
