The Penguins are reshaping the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton roster ahead of the AHL playoffs. Yesterday, they added former number one draft pick Owen Pickering, the 2022 number one draft choice, whose season with Swift Current in juniors just ended.
The Pens also added 2023 6th round pick forward Cooper Foster, forward Ville Koivunen, who came to the team in the Jake Guentzel trade, and defenseman Emil Pieniniemi, their third-round draft pick last year.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will host Lehigh Valley for the first game of the best-of-three Calder Cup playoff series tomorrow.

In the Stanley Cup first round, Carolina took a 2-0 lead over the Islanders last night with a 5-3 win. The Maple Leafs beat the Bruins, 3-2 in overtime to tie that series at one. Vegas took a 1-0 lead over Dallas with a 4-3 win. Edmonton routed the LA Kings, 7-4 to take a 1-0 lead in that series.
The Buffalo Sabres have hired Lindy Ruff to return as their head coach. He previously coached the Sabres from 1997 to 2013. He was let go by New Jersey mid-season this year.
