BASEBALL
Indiana took a 5-0 lead in the second inning but gave up 7 in the bottom of the frame and Shaler went on to a 13-7 win. It was Indiana’s third straight loss. Ben Ryan hit a grand slam for Indiana and Andrew McGee had 3 hits. Sully Van Hoose had 2 hits.
Marion Center scored 5 runs in the top of the first and went on to beat Purchase Line, 9-1. Noah McCoy homered and Trey Slovinsky had 3 hits. Camden Rising went 6 innings for the win and struck out 8. AJ Chambers had 2 hits for PL.
Sammy Yanits had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs as River Valley topped West Shamokin, 9-3. Merreck Smith had 2 hits and drove in 3 and Hunter Riggle had 2 hits.
Cambria Heights clipped United, 5-4. Ethan Kline had 3 hits and Anthony Swander had 2 hits and 3 RBIs. Bryce Lewis and Garrett Jasper also had 2 hits for the 8-2 Highlanders. Connor Darr had 3 hits for United.
Conemaugh Township beat Northern Cambria 7-3.
Jake McCoy struck out 10 batters as Portage nipped Conemaugh Valley, 2-1.
SOFTBALL
Marion Center routed Purchase Line 14-4. Maci Miller, Lydia Miller, and Kayla Hill each had 2 hits to lead the Stingers.
Penns Manor scored 5 in the 7th inning to overcome Homer-Center, 7-5. Kaiden Shields and Allison Rhea each had 2 hits for the Comets. Bekah Marshall and Booth had 2 hits each for the Wildcats.
After beating River Valley 11-3 on Tuesday, West Shamokin beat them again, 11-8 yesterday. Three hits for Maria Young and two apiece for Malena Stewart and Avery Elkin.
Cambria Heights beat United 10-0 as Gina Lane and Sidney Nihart each had 3 hits. Abby McConville had 2 hits for United.
Conemaugh Valley’s Maddie Beiter threw a no-hitter, struck out 8, recording her 200th career strikeout, and hit a 2-run home run to lead the Blue Jays to a 10-0 win over Portage. Katie Ledwich hit two homers for CV.
Northern Cambria swept a doubleheader from Conemaugh Township, 5-3 and 17-0.
LACROSSE
Indiana bombed Winchester Thurston, 25-0. Parker Bowersox scored five goals, Landin Wilson four, and Garrett Goodrich three. Ash Lockard, Carson Beatty and Tommy Kaufmann all had two goals.
