BASEBALL
United jumped on Northern Cambria early and cruised to a 16-4 win. Dmitri Worthington had 3 hits and drove in 2 runs, while Isaac Worthington had 2 hits and drove in 3. Connor Darr, Caden McCully, Travis Timko, and Ryan Felix each had 2 hits for the Lions. Trey Pershing and Parker Shutty each had 2 hits for the Colts.
Kiski School scored 3 runs in each of the first two innings and went on to a 7-2 win over Penns Manor. The Comets could muster only three hits, a triple by Carter Smith and singles by Justin Vojtek and Kaden Detwiler. Kiski’s Cy Zufall struck out 12 in 6 one-hit innings.
SOFTBALL
River Valley beat Penns Manor, 11-0, in five innings. Bailey Dunlap, Maren Dunlap, Tori Foust, and Sara Bollinger all had 2 hits and Dunlap, Foust, and Lilly Buckles all drove in 2 runs. In the circle, Bollinger struck out 4.
Northern Cambria scored 11 runs in the first and hammered United, 15-0, in three innings. Ava Messina had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Rylee Stine had a hit and drove in 4.
West Shamokin scored 4 runs in the 6th and shut out Derry, 5-0 in a non-conference game. Malena Stewart homered and had 2 hits. Leah Mondi also had 2 hits and in the circle she struck out 12.
