It’s the home stretch for the Heritage Conference this week as the end of the school year approaches.
The Heritage Conference Track and Field Championships are scheduled for tomorrow at United High School.
The Heritage Conference Softball Championship will be played at the South Complex at Northern Cambria on Thursday night, with Marion Center taking on Conemaugh Valley.
The Heritage Conference Baseball Championship will be next Monday, the 13th, at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City. The matchup is dependent on action this week. River Valley and Homer-Center are battling for the top spot in the West. The Wildcats beat the Panthers last week, putting Homer-Center up a game, at 9-3 to River Valley’s 8-4.
Barring rainouts and reschedules, the schedule has Homer-Center playing winless Purchase Line twice this week, today and on Wednesday. In between, they will play the two rescheduled games they missed on Saturday against River Valley and West Shamokin.
River Valley’s schedule has them hosting Marion Center tonight and playing at Marion Center on Wednesday and at Northern Cambria on Thursday, plus the game tomorrow at Homer-Center.
It’s a bit simpler in the Heritage East, where Conemaugh Township just needs to win once in their two games against Cambria Heights to clinch the top spot over Northern Cambria. They’ll play the Highlanders today and on Wednesday.

The Teddy Bear Fund Drive games rained out on Saturday, which also happen to be key Heritage Conference West games, will both be on the air tomorrow on WDAD and on Renda Digital TV. Homer-Center takes on River Valley at 4, followed by the Wildcats playing West Shamokin at 7. Pregame begins at 3:45.
