IUP has announced the selection of interim leadership for the new College of Health Sciences.
The university announced that current Dean of the IUP School of Graduate Studies and Leadership Dr. Hillary Creely will serve as the interim dean of the new school, with the chair of IUP’s Department of Psychology Dr. Lisa Newell named as the interim associate dean. IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll said in a statement that the two are well-respected leaders in the university community and was happy they agreed to serve in these roles.
The College of Health Sciences includes the departments of Allied and Public Health, Nursing and Psychology, and will have close ties to the proposed college of Osteopathic Medicine. The new school was developed following a year-long, university-wide Academic Review and restructuring process. The new academic structure will go into effect July 1st, the same day that Creely and Newell will start their work as interim leaders.
