The Steelers have announced their training camp schedule, kicking it off July 24th at St. Vincent College, and the team will return to its traditional afternoon starting time for practices open to the public. They’d switched to 10:30 AM practices last season, but they are back to 1:55 PM this year.
There will be fourteen sessions open to the public, all at 1:55 PM except for the 7 PM “Friday Night Lights” practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium on August 1st.
The schedule calls for public practices ending August 12th, camp breaking after a closed practice the next day, then a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Bucs at Acrisure Stadium on August 14th before they play the Bucs in their first preseason game on the 16th.

Workouts continued for the Steelers yesterday, the next-to-last day for OTAs. It was another chance for the young offensive line to work together. Second-year guard Mason McCormick says this will be a more confident year for the entire unit.
Punter Cameron Johnston is back to work and booming punts again after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the first game last year. He says he put the time off to good use, even though he’d rather have been on the field.
OTAs end today, with mandatory minicamp beginning on Tuesday.
