Another round of strong winter weather is expected to come to Indiana County this afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory starting at 1:00 this afternoon for Indiana, Armstrong and Jefferson Counties until 1:00 PM tomorrow, however, Westmoreland County to the south will see a winter storm warning for that same time span. Indiana, Armstrong and Jefferson Counties are expecting to see anywhere between three to five inches, but the snow is expected to get heavier the farther south you go. For Westmoreland County, anywhere between six and ten inches are expected over the 24 hour time span. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult during that time frame, and any areas in a winter weather advisory could quickly turn to a Winter Storm Warning.
People in a winter storm warning area should delay travel if at all possible, and take care if you have to be on the road. If you do have to go out, remember to bundle up in layers.
