Monday was another quiet day for first responders as only two calls for service were reported.
The first was an automatic fire alarm activation at an Amish furniture store on Indiana Road in Smicksburg. While Plumville and Dayton fire departments were sent out, they were immediately recalled to their station as the alarm company confirmed it was a false alarm.
At 4:44 PM, the Homer City fire department was dispatched to Pellegrene Drive in Center Township for an “unknown type fire” according to Indiana County 911. Homer City fire officials said that it too was a false alarm as someone thought a controlled burn was an active brush fire.
Crews were also sent out early this morning in Young Township. Iselin/West Lebanon firefighters were sent to a property in the 500 block of Craig Run Road for an odor investigation.
