Flu-related activity in Pennsylvania has stabilized according to the state Department of Health. This comes after a few weeks of sharp increases were reported.
The department reports that another 6,108 cases of flu were reported in the state over the last week, bringing the total to 115,046 cases since the start of respiratory virus season on September 28th. For the week ending March 7th, the percent of emergency room visits resulting in a flu diagnosis was low. 423 flu-related deaths have been reported in the state.
For RSV, trends are slightly decreasing. A total of 22,456 cases were confirmed in Pennsylvania, with 1953 coming in over the week. Emergency department visits that are related to an RSV diagnosis were also low.
In Indiana County, 359 cases of flu have been reported this year along with 36 RSV cases.
