UPDATE AT 9:30 AM: While large parties were reported, there were no major incidents reported on the first night of IUPatty’s weekend.
According to the I-ACT stakeholders report this morning, campus police had 25 routine calls for service and arrested two women for disorderly conduct. Indiana Borough Police announced 30 IUP-related calls last night. They said that the areas where the large gatherings formed were at campus-adjacent neighborhoods, especially in the 7th Street corridor and on Rice Avenue with no significant impact seen elsewhere. Among those arrested were seven non-students on public drunkenness, DUI and underage drinking, along with one arrested on an outstanding warrant.
State Police added 12 DUI arrests along with 3 drug-related arrest and one firearm-related incarceration.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
The first night of IUPatty’s weekend went smoothly without major incidents.
I-ACT Media Representative Michelle Fryling said that there were no major calls during the overnight hours into this morning. I-ACT will release statistics on calls for service by Indiana Borough, IUP and State Police later this morning.
