The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded most of the local area to an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening. Previously, Indiana County was in the Level 2 area.
The upgrade is due to increasing confidence in the potential for damaging wind gusts and large hail that could exceed golf ball size. A tornado or two still cannot be ruled out.
