Carol Anne “CJ” Johnson, 73, of Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 23, 2026 at her home.
She was born July 24, 1952 to Gerard and Elizabeth Philbin in Elmyria, New York.
Carol spent 73 wonderful years spreading joy to any and all around her. Her life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here. Not a day went by where CJ didn’t talk about how much her family meant to her. Her family was arguably her most important achievement in life, as well as her cleaning business, but most of all, being a Nana. She will be remembered for her limitless love, immense generosity and just truly having a heart of gold. She made friends everywhere she went. She knew no strangers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years Larry Tost, Indiana, her step-children that she raised as her own, Paul Tost (Jennifer), Indiana, Corey Bird (Thomas), GA, four wonderful grandchildren, William, Anna, David and Lexi, a sister, Andrea B. Stephens and husband Phillip, VA, Linda Drake and husband William, NY, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents and a sister, Michele Jan Philbin.
Friends will be received on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 N., Indiana, PA 15701.
