Judith Ann Palaski, 78 of Homer City, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born October 18, 1947 to Emil J. and Julia (Murphy) Letson, in Pittsburgh.
She attended and graduated high school from St, Canice Catholic church and high school in Pittsburgh. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Pittsburgh. She met and married her husband of 56 years, Richard in January of 1970. She and Richard settled in Indiana County in 1972. Judy was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader for many years. She was founding member and also was the past president of the Homer Center Public Library. She started a book club and cook book club at the library. She spent many hours volunteering at fund raisers for the library and also volunteered at the Indiana County Humane Society. Judy enjoyed learning about her Irish heritage, camping at Cook Forrest, dogs, writing poems, painting, reading, playing games. She was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports and also the city. Most of all she loved her family.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Richard C. Palaski, Homer City, a son Eric E. Palaski and wife Amy, Johnstown, a daughter, Jana C. Palaski and fiancé Matt, CA, and a grandson Ivan P. Palaski, and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law John Palaski.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM with Pastor John Ditter officiating, at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route, 119 N., Indiana, PA 15701.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Homer Center Public Library, 6N Main Street, Homer City, PA 15748 or the Indiana County Humane Society, 191 Airport Road Indiana, PA 15701.
