Criminal call hearings are scheduled for Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas today, including one for a woman charged with smothering her infant child in January of 2024.
Court documents show Patricia Ann Hullenbaugh of Indiana is due for her hearing today in front of President Judge Thomas Bianco. She faces charges of criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, child endangerment, and strangulation. Police said she called 911 to report that her child had stopped breathing and claimed that he was hanging out of his crib with his face in the mattress. She later admitted to smothering the child with a blanket. A motions hearing is on the schedule for May 13th.
Also on the docket for today is 59-year-old Joseph David Zemba of Blairsville. He faces charges of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault along with the same charges against an unconscious victim for an incident on May 2nd of last year. State police said he and the victim were together at an apartment in Burrell Township when the victim said she passed out on the couch. She found her pants and underwear were removed when she woke up and later on heard a rumor that Zemba was sharing an indecent photo of her from that day. Police said she searched her Google Nest account and found a video of him removing the clothing. Zemba admitted to performing the sexual acts but claimed that he did not know the victim was unconscious.
Criminal Call is designed to update the court and the parties involved on the progress of a case. Proceedings are usually postponed to a later date, but on occasion, guilty pleas have been entered at the Criminal Call phase.
