Indiana County Technology Center officials are reacting to comments made by the outgoing River Valley Superintendent in a recent interview.
One of the main comments by River Valley Superintendent Philip Martell during an interview on Indiana In the Morning concerned a problem with ICTC’s welding program. He claimed that the program was not taking every student that wanted to take welding, citing that as a reason why the River Valley STEAM academy started offering the program.
ICTC Administrative Director Mike McDermott said that Martell’s remarks were inaccurate as they have expanded their program to meet the demand.
He added that there are no waiting lists or any reason that would prevent a student from enrolling in ICTC’s welding program.
