Erma M. Johnston, 85, of Homer City, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 12, 1941, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dessie (Overman) Duncan.
Erma enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved going for walks, caring for flowers, and spending time with her beloved cats. She was well known for her kind heart and gentle nature. She delivered the Blairsville Dispatch for many years. She also worked for the Homer-Center School District in the cleaning department, where she was appreciated for her hard work and dedication.
Erma was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Susan Duncan; her nieces and nephews, Jessica Hoover, Scott Duncan, Jason Duncan, and several great-nieces and great-nephews, Adam, Dusty, Jon, Chris, Kayla, and Emily.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joseph Johnston, she was preceded in death by her family members who went before her.
Friends will be received Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City, with Pastor Paul Price, officiating. Interment to follow in the Coral Lutheran Cemetery, Coral.
