The Heritage Conference baseball and softball championships will be decided tonight, with two of the teams hoping to remain undefeated for the season.
In baseball at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City, 17-0 Conemaugh Township represents the East, taking on 12-5 Marion Center, which has won its last seven games. Township won the only meeting between the two teams, 6-2 on April 16th.
The softball championship at Northern Cambria is a rematch of last year’s title game. Powerhouse West Shamokin is 19-0 and will battle 16-3 Conemaugh Valley. The Wolves won the only regular season game between the two, 4-1 on April 16th, and West Shamokin also won the championship game last year, 5-1 behind two home runs by catcher Cameron Vandervort.
The airtimes for both games, co-sponsored by Five-Star Mitsubishi and Five-Star Powersports, is 6:45 on Renda Digital TV.
