The Steelers got tired of waiting for often-injured defensive back Corey Trice Jr. to get healthy, paving him on waivers yesterday and signing Makari Paige, a former Michigan Wolverine who was undrafted last year and was released by the New York Giants after training camp. He primarily played safety, but also lined up at slot/nickel cornerback in college.
Trice was waived after failing his physical. He tore his left ACL in college at Purdue, his right ACL in his first training camp with the Steelers in 2023, played six games before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of 2024, then missed all of last season with a hamstring injury in training camp, followed by another knee injury during rehab.
