A Maryland man is due in Indiana County Court today for a criminal call hearing connected with a stabbing case from earlier this year.
Court documents show 31-year-old Detrolen Trezman Hobbs of Baltimore is charged with aggravated assault, burglary and possession of an instrument of crime for the incident on January 21st. He reportedly met his victim, who lived in Indiana, online two months earlier and he came to Indiana to further the relationship but became abusive with her and reportedly struck her. On the night of the incident, Hobbs reportedly broke into a home in the 1100 block of Oak Street and stabbed the victim, who was providing care for someone living there. Indiana and IUP police and Citizens Ambulance responded quickly and were able to save her life. Hobbs has been in Indiana County Jail since his arrest as bail was denied.
Criminal Call is designed to update the court and the parties involved on the progress of a case. Proceedings are usually postponed to a later date, but on occasion, guilty pleas have been entered at the Criminal Call phase.
