State police have issued a warning regarding a phone call scam that may be circulating in the area.
Officials say that on Tuesday, an Indiana County man got into contact with police to report getting a suspicious phone call where someone was posing as a representative of Comcast. The scammer offered to reduce the mans monthly bill, but would need his credit card information to complete the process. Believing the call was legitimate, the man gave his information and later determined the call might be a scam. He suffered no financial loss.
Police advise that if you get a call you believe to be a scam, ignore it, and contact local law enforcement for guidance.
