This morning, Amanda Vatter was sworn in as Indiana County’s new Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts.
She takes over for Randy Degenkolb, who is retiring after more than 25 years of serving the county in multiple positions, including county commissioner, auditor and financial manager.
Degenkolb says that he is confident in Vatter to be able to tackle the role.
Vatter joined the staff in 2017 as an accounting major at IUP and has worked her way through the ranks of the office ever since. She says that she is excited to get to work implementing new technologies to make the work of the courts more efficient and save taxpayers money.
Vatter will serve the rest of Degenkolb’s term, which expires in December of 2027.
